Boka Saul Rice
Rice is my favorite food. But sometimes it is just easier to eat instant noodles or couscous that do not requires to cook. Now we have found the solution: Rice that does not require cooking. Move over instant noodles! Here comes the Magic Rice from India.
Boka in Assamese means mud (and the softness of it), and saul means rice. Boka saul is a type of rice that does not need cooking. Yup, you heard it right, Simply add hot water and soak it for 10-15 min, or add cold water and soak for an hour, and your rice is ready to eat. . Sounds magical? It is! Hence, it is also known as the Magic Rice or zero fule rise.
As per the research done the rice has 10.73 % fiber content and 6.8 % protein. Traditionally, Magic Rice is eaten with yogurt (curd), sometimes cream, and banana.
Magic rice can be very useful for Trekkers and Mountaineers, disaster and relief work because it requires zero fules to cook.
